It has been a busy week back!! Your students have worked hard this on their Disease Project!!
Remember that the test is on Wednesday; there are study guides and directions to get pertinent information to study on USAtest prep. Important Organs- I would like the students to focus on studying these specific organs, what they do, and also what system they belong to. They are: Brain, Stomach, Muscles, Bones, Skin, Kidneys, Blood, Bladder, Esophagus, Small Intestine, Large Intestine, and heart Below are some quizizz codes for practice: 275503 922716 165611 278993 132192 It is good to be back full time!!! After the unforeseen circumstance last week, this is my first full week back. Yesterday, in each class, I held a 15 minute review session before the students took the quiz on organ systems parts and functions. The quiz will not go in the grade book, instead I used it to deduce which content needs to be retaught. Currently, in class, we are working on the Disease Project, which will be a summative grade. It is comprised of a group poster, and individual analysis questions (both due Friday, November 15th). Our Test for this unit will be Wednesday, November 20th. For additional help, your students can get onto USATest prep: 1) go to 7th grade science, 2) scroll down and click standards, 3) click CELLS TO SYSTEMS, and 4) ORGAN SYSTEMS. I would suggest reviewing all 11 videos (except parts of the brain and asexual and sexual reproduction). This standard also has vocabulary practice, questions, and performance tasks. I have also assigned a 10 question practice, as well as a mock test. Included in this post are the blank notes, power point for the notes, study guides for the quizzes, study guide for the test, filled-in interaction chart. I will add some quizizz codes in the next few days. Remember: Study guides are just that, guides to follow and not to memorize.
Below are the files for today. You have a Dich. Key power-point, as well as copies of the notes, and 2 different practice sheets. I know that if may be a little confusing, but please try your best and we will go over everything tomorrow!!
This week we are continuing our work in learning how to Classify living organisms. We will have a weekly quiz on Friday, 5-10 questions, from what we learned this week.
We have had a busy week and a half, to start the school year. Last week we talked about class procedures, expectations, and classroom/laboratory safety. Your students, brought home a safety contract that needed to be signed, and was due Monday, August 19. They also, took a quick safety quiz, on what the contract covered.
